Welcome back to the Omni Win Project!
It's been a while since I've been active on the Internet, but I've been busy working on various projects that aim to bring about positive change in our democracy. In this article, I will discuss the main themes that have emerged from my recent endeavors and share some exciting developments that you can get involved in.

What I've been Doing:
I've been getting involved with some amazing projects. Here's a sampler
People Power TV: Collaborative Television for a Better World
I spent a great part of this year on the team of PeoplePower.tv, a dynamic team working to create mainstream media aimed at showcasing how people can communicate across their differences. The goal is to demonstrate that effective communication and understanding are possible, even in today's polarized world. As I believe, all we need is to show the world that this is possible."
Assemble America: Bringing Democracy by Assembly to the Forefront
I am now on the board of directors for Assemble America, an organization dedicated to bringing democracy by assembly into the national consciousness. Citizen assemblies, also known as democracy by assembly, have the potential to address many of the challenges our democracy faces. We want to move the Overton window on citizen assemblies by demonstrating their ability to foster collaborative decision-making.
Independent National Convention and United Independents
I recently attended the Independent National Convention, in Austin, TX. It was a fascinating experience. This event has led me to get involved with various independent political organizations and groups. The United Independents are launching a Local Stewards Training Academy to empower individuals who want to make a positive impact in their communities. I am excited to be teaching the “Facilitation and Conflict Transformation” track.
Wonder if the Local Stewards is for you? Take the assessment here.
Local Government and Neighborhood Democracy
To truly understand what democracy looks like on the ground, I have started getting involved in my local community, Oakland, California. I am attending city council meetings and I've joined a group working towards the creation of a local neighborhood council. My dream is to build an instance of collaborative democracy at a local yet formal scale. I am also connecting with other local organizations, such as the Community Democracy Project.
What is going on?
The current state of our democracy is concerning. I see a collapse in trust and a lack of faith in the possibility of change. I know that blaming individuals or parties for our problems is misguided; we are all responsible for finding solutions. So as a response, I am actively engaging in my local community, building relationships locally and online, and focusing on education and skill-building. I think these are the essentials that we will need to rebuild trust and work towards a more inclusive and effective democracy.
The projects I have been involved in, such as PeoplePower.tv and Assemble America, have the potential to reshape the way we approach democracy. They inspire others to engage in constructive dialogue and collaborative decision-making. Equally important, however, is the development and growth of ourselves and communities. That is why I'm excited to not only teach but also participate as a student in the Local Steward Training Academy. I want to see more opportunities for individuals to make a tangible impact in their communities.
What Happens Next?
As the host of The Omni Win Project I continue to be dedicated to building a better democracy by fostering collaboration, trust, and engagement. I want all of us to create a positive ripple effect that extends beyond our immediate surroundings.
In that spirit, I invite you to join the Omni-Win Project Member Community and become a patron of the show. By doing becoming a patron, (paying a monthly fee), you will gain access to the Omni-Win Project Community Forum where you can connect with like-minded individuals. There are various patron tiers that give you access to all kinds of exclusive content such as ad-free videos and live events of various kinds. The best reason to become a patron is the knowledge that you are supporting this effort. Together, we can work towards a future where democracy thrives, and everyone's voice is heard.
Thank you for your interest in the Omni Win Project. Stay tuned for more updates and let's embark on this journey of positive change together.
