The Omni-Win Project Podcast is ready to shed light on the many opportunities we have to revolutionize our political culture.
We’re all in this together, so join us in co-creating the future of democracy.
Episode One: “The Greatest Challenges of Our Democracy" with Ken Cloke
Listen here:
This inaugural episode is part one of a powerful two-part conversation with Ken Cloke, a mediator with nearly 40 years’ experience. As Duncan's mentor, Ken has inspired the creation of this engaging podcast.
Duncan and Ken discuss the relationship between conflict and politics, introducing new lenses through which we can view our political culture. Are you ready to see conflict in a new light?
Highlights in this episode:
Ken talks about the greatest challenges democracy faces right now.
Learn about the three forms of democracy and how we’re getting it wrong.
Discover why nuance is so vital in our complex world.
Understand why collaboration in decision-making is crucial.
Learn how conflict resolution tools can maximize our search for the highest common good.
Uncover why democracy fails and how people use it as a weapon.
Appreciate how important it is for us to overcome the adversarial nature of nation-states.
There are two very interesting comments about democracy and why it fails. The first is from Plato in the Republic, who writes that democracy is always vulnerable because we try to satisfy everybody's interests, and nobody feels completely satisfied. And along comes an autocrat or a dictator who turns democracy against itself, who uses the openness of democracy to destroy it.
This is actually what Hitler, Goering, Goebbels, and various other spokespeople for the Nazi regime in the 1930s in Europe expressed openly. They were using democracy to destroy it.
Episode Two: “Saving Democracy with Mediation and Conflict Transformation" with Ken Cloke
Listen here:
Host Duncan Autrey continues his thought-provoking conversation with mediator Ken Cloke in this episode. Our current political system only allows citizens to say yes or no. The problem? Having a binary voting system ignores the nuance. It excludes perspectives, and it disenfranchises voters.
The more perspectives we have in a situation, the deeper our understanding of the solution. Duncan and Ken discuss the impact of a deliberative decision-making process on our democracy. How can we ensure citizen participation to make sure we all win?
Highlights in this episode:
Ken tells us why compromise is not an optimal solution.
Understand the challenges of bringing mediation and conflict resolution into politics.
Learn the skills to organize conversations and bring polarized people together.
Find out the metrics Ken will use during the next presidential election.
Uncover the most powerful problem-solving organization that’s a huge part of the issue.
Discover why conflict and polarization are not negatives.
Gain an understanding of why conceding is not the point of negotiation.
Find out Ken’s view on finding a solution to the war in Ukraine.
Ken and Duncan discuss why people want to harm others and how we can prevent it.
We are really at a significant turning point. We can't forget January 6th and the insurrection. If we think about what happened, we realize that we came within millimeters of losing democracy entirely. And that can still happen again.

What’s coming next?
Tomorrow, you’ll hear Ryan Nakade’s views on ideology, his unique skills that deradicalize violent extremists, and how politicians encourage division. You don’t want to miss it!
Here’s a sneak peek!
I recently got into the field of deradicalizing violent extremists who adhere to ideologies, everything from Proud Boys to like Antifa and the Black Panthers and neo-Nazi groups.
So I basically go and study all of these ideologies that are labeled extreme and crazy and dangerous. And then I try to go and talk to people on their own terms. People respect you when you signal that you've put in the effort to learn about their school of thought, and they respect that you might even know more than they do about their own ideology.
